The first-gulp challenge
What is Hit the Pin?
It is not about the pour. Hit the Pin begins when you pick up your finished stout and take that first satisfying gulp.

The print on the glass
440, with the challenge built in.
The bold 440 identifies the glass at a glance. Running through the zero is the orange pin: a simple marker that turns the first gulp into a challenge.
The proposed front print uses only two colours, warm cream and burnt orange, keeping it clean enough for a premium glass while making the pin easy to read against a dark stout.
The image shows the proposed print currently being prepared for final production sign-off.
Proposed two-colour front printHow to read it
The stout line tells you.
After your first gulp, put the glass down and let the stout settle. Look at where the boundary between the stout and the creamy head meets the orange pin.

A hit: the settled stout line crosses the orange pin through the centre of the zero. Above it or below it? Close, but no pin.
Three simple steps
Pour. Gulp. Judge.
Pour your stout
Start with a full 440ml can, properly poured into The 440 Stout.
Take the first gulp
Drink naturally. No measuring, rehearsing or carefully calculated sip.
Find the line
Let it settle. If the stout line crosses the pin, you have hit it.
A ritual made for sharing
The stout is still the star. Hit the Pin simply gives that first gulp a moment people can repeat, compare and share, whether they hit it perfectly or miss by a mile.
